Re-fitting window winder mech difficulties
I've had to replace the lifter channels on a front window, but the Haynes instructions seem to make the job of refitting the window impossible; any hints or tips on getting the winder mech reengaged in the lifting channels without resorting to brute force and ignorance?
Thanks

I'vre had to replace the lifting bars and channels on a front window, but I'm buggered if I can get the winder mech back into the channels and refitted - the Haynes instructions are a bit weird. Any hints or tips most welcome. Thanks.

water in footwells
No the seats won't cause a leak unless they are drilled thru the bottom of the car. You should check the skin on your door and see if it has separated from the door. You can always get your door reskinned. I bought a car with a pool of water in the front of the passenger seat and behind it. The carpet kept it hidden and when I removed the carpet I found that my door was rotted. The rain comes in thru the area where the window goes thru the door. Because the rain comes in there it will rust out the bottom and also the window winder. I just lost my window because of the same problem that caused my door to rust. I wish there was an easy fix to stop the water from going into the door.

Chrome Pull / Grab Handle for A 1997 Rover Mini Cooper????
Hi, I am currently converting the interior of my Mini and at present I have manage to get chrome window winders, Door openers and latch all in chrome but not the door pull. I dont want the alloy version with the holes in! Can anyone suggest a company thats selling them that would fit my car? Cheers

door cards?
The door cards on later cars are simply clipped to the outer frame of the door (have to remove the door handle and window winder first of course) so I can't understand how you came to bend it. Or have I forgotten something?

Window Problem!
Hi mate,
As mentioned, not an easy job to do on your own, but it is possible. Grab yourself a copy of the haynes manual, it explains in there how to remove the window and winder mechanism.

Re:
Yes you can just replace the window regulator channels and there's no need to replace the winder mechanism.
These are the items you'll be needing, so click on them to be taken straight to the parts themselves: -

FOR SALE: 1994 L reg Mini Cooper Monte Carlo 1.3i Black and White.
FOR SALE: 1994 L reg Mini Cooper Monte Carlo 1.3i Black and White. 60900 miles on the clock. A REAL OPPORTUNITY FOR ANY CAR ENTHUSIAST TO OWN A GREAT LIMITED EDITION MINI! Everything as standard apart from ally window winders and stereo.
Good condition and a good Runner, slight occasional electrical misfire that will need some attention along with the usual small rust patches.(rear window/front wheel arch) Just had brand new 70Amp alternator fitted. good condition interior with wood effect dash and half leather sporty seats.
I don't really want to get rid of it, however I have just got a new job and need a car that is good for a lot of miles and regular motorway travel, and although the mini could probably cope with it easilly enough, I wouldn't want to do it to the little fella. If I could afford to keep it as a second car I would, but unfortunatly I can't.
Most of you will know the Monte Carlos limited availiability (especially in black) and therefore will appreciate the value of such a car. However the car does need a little tlc to get it back to its spritely best and is prived accordingly.
PRICE : 1350ono
